    Whiplash claims

Despite what the certain sections of the tabloid press have to say about whiplash, there is no doubt that if you are involved in a car accident, any sudden movement of your head can overstretch and damage the tendons and ligaments in the neck, causing acute pain and injury to the neck muscles and even the spine itself.

It is very important to seek medical attention as soon as possible following a suspected neck injury. The pain and stiffness is often worse on the day after the injury is sustained and may get progressively worse for several days afterwards. After an accident it can take six to 12 hours for the symptoms of whiplash to develop, which include:

    • Neck pain and stiffness
    • Tender neck and shoulder muscles
    • Reduced and painful neck movements
    • Mild or severe headaches

In most cases, the symptoms of whiplash eventually subside without causing any lasting damage. However, in a small number of cases, the pain can last for six months or longer (chronic whiplash). Chronic whiplash can make it difficult to carry out everyday activities, can cause problems at work and can also lead to anxiety and depression.

You should never accept an insurance company’s offer of financial compensation for a whiplash injury without speaking to a solicitor first. What might at first seem to be fairly mild symptoms can turn out to be a damaging long-term condition and that is why you should take your lawyer’s advice and attend an in-depth medical.

“The team at Bonnar were very good at communicating and keeping me up to date with what was happening. Very professional. I would highly recommend the company to family and friends”.

    David Bremner

Spine and spinal cord injury compensation

Serious spinal injuries resulting in paralysis have a devastating emotional and psychological effect on the victim’s life and a drastic impact on the immediate family members.

At Bonnar Accident Law we fully understand the huge responsibilities involved in representing the victim of a spinal cord injury. It is absolutely vital that the injured person is represented by an experienced  personal injury solicitor with a track record of success in spinal injury cases which are challenging and complex.

A claim for spinal injury compensation requires not only the highest professional legal standards but also a genuine and unerring dedication to the needs and difficulties being experienced by the victim and the members of their family as everyone tries to adjust to their drastic change in circumstances and the impact on their future plans.

Settlement figures can often exceed £1,000,000 depending upon the severity of the injury, the loss of future earnings, the age of the accident victim, the requirement for life-long medical care, the costs of adapting the victim’s home and the costs of special vehicles. Our lawyers will carefully evaluate our injured client’s claim to include all these costs.

    Neck injuries:

Whiplash injury involving absence from work and full recovery within three months up to £1,500
Whiplash injury involving absence from work and full recovery within two years up to £3,000
Severe neck injury involving fractures to the bones in the neck up to £20,000
Ruptured tendons leading to permanent disability up to £35,000

Find out if you have a claim. Let our expert legal team help you and your family today.
