Veronica McManus
LL.B., N.P.
Managing Director
Veronica McManus worked in the NHS in the 1970’s and 1980’s where she enjoyed a very rewarding career as a Staff Nurse at The Western Infirmary and as a Health Visitor in the east end of Glasgow. She is a life-long Trade Unionist and supporter of workers’ rights. In her role as a NUPE (now NALGO) shop steward, she attended rallies and national conferences and was a spokesperson for her colleagues in the Health Service for many years.
It was while Veronica was visiting patients in the Shettleston area of the city, that she was injured in a serious road traffic accident. It was around this time that she became involved in dealing with legal issues concerning patient welfare and soon thereafter decided to change direction and embark on a legal career which involved extensive part-time study whilst holding down a full-time job.
Veronica secured a position as a trainee at a leading Scottish personal injury firm, dealing exclusively with hurt and injured people. She was invited to join what was then Bonnar & Company Solicitors in Airdrie, where she soon became a partner.
For the past 20 years she has led the firm’s development with the opening of new offices in Fife (Dunfermline), Edinburgh and Lanarkshire (East Kilbride).
She is extremely passionate about treating clients and their families with sympathy and understanding and helping them cope with the aftermath of injuries and illness. She is dedicated to winning clients the maximum amount of compensation and she works tirelessly to achieve the best possible results.
Her professional nursing background gives her a unique perspective on the challenges of recovery and rehabilitation faced by the firm’s clients and she brings all that experience to bear on the special way Bonnar Accident Law manages everyone’s claim.
Special interest
Veronica has a special interest in helping clients with serious head and spinal injuries requiring medically sophisticated and complex rehabilitation programmes.
