Brain injury charity accolade for Scottish law firm
Headway UK, the brain injury association, has added Bonnar Accident Law Solicitors to its list of approved solicitors for 2010.
In adding Bonnar Accident Law, the healthcare charity acknowledges the firm's expertise in handling complex , high value cases which often involve catastrophic injury.
Ronnie Conway, the Litigation Partner at Bonnar Accident Law said: 'We handle all types of head and brain injury cases and we fully support the work of this important charity throughout Scotland.
It is a great accolade for the firm to be included on the list as we had to meet Headway's stringent membership criteria and code of conduct, which involved an in-depth assessment of our capability to successfully represent the interests of brain injured people and their families.'
Headway, which was launched 30 years ago, exists to promote understanding of all aspects of brain injury and to provide information, support and services to people with a brain injury, their family and carers.

The price of speed
A 4-year old boy who was hit by a speeding van as he played outside his home has been awarded £1million damages.
The child suffered a serious head injury and will need care and support for the rest of his life. The vehicle was doing 30mph in a '20's plenty' zone.
Ronnie Conway, litigation partner at leading personal injury firm Bonnar Accident Law Solicitors, who acted for the boy said:
'This may seem like a lot of money but the boy will be reliant on help and care for the rest of his life. He was a normal, lively child till the accident. The crushing reality is that had the driver slowed to 20mph the boy would have been alright, but that single careless decision to ignore the '20's plenty' zone was tragic for this child. The money will make his life as easy as possible and gives his family some assurance that he will be cared for properly after they have gone.'
The child's mother who wishes to remain anonymous, said:
'Money can't fix my son's injuries but we can start to re-build our lives and know we will be able to pay for all the help he is going to need as he grows up.'
Bonnar Accident Law work exclusively on behalf of accident victims and their families throughout Scotland. At their Lanarkshire office Ronnie Conway told the LOCAL NEWS:
'This kind of action can take years to bring to a conclusion and often the settlement is made out of court at the last minute. This is one of the biggest settlements we have ever achieved.'
The money has been put in a trust for the child concerned.

Drink-drive accident victim gets £230k award
A WEST FIFE woman who was the victim of a drink driver has been awarded £230,000 interim damages by a judge.
Lisa Smart, 27, suffered a serious head injury after she walked back from a social function at Saline Golf Club in 2002.
The former bank clerk, who is currently living in a nursing home, was left with movement only in her fingers and the toes of one foot. She communicates mainly by using a buzzer.
Bonnar & Company Solicitors acting for Miss Smart valued her claim at over £6million and made a claim for interim damages. Lord Carloway was told that Miss Smart had expressed a preference to be cared for at home and he stated that 'this arrangement would involve at least two carers with others working part time'.
A further hearing to assess the full ammount of damages to be paid has been set for next year.
